Did you know Strongwater occupies a former manufacturing company warehouse, which was built around 1910? The exposed brick, high ceilings, original beams create an incredible backdrop for any event.
One trend we hope sticks around this season is…COLOR!! ✨
Jennifer @finerthingseventplanning coordinated this beyond beautiful styled shoot for us and we couldn’t have loved it more.

This week we look at the second part of our two-part series involving two of the newer members of our 400 community. Jennifer Arkwright (@arkwrightportraits ) has been doing photography since she was very young and continued to do it when she went to Bowling Green State University. From here she saw photography in its real light, a passion that she felt was her calling.
Jennifer says “ I have been fortunate enough to embark on a soul-stirring journey, weaving tales through the lens of my camera. Whether it’s the tender embrace of a family, the radiant glow of a newlywed couple, or the jubilant excitement of a graduating senior, I live to capture the essence of life’s most exquisite moments.”
She always had dreams of opening up a portrait studio since she’s been doing photography creatively for more than 20 years, and professionally for about 6 years now. She made the leap to professional after being the second shooter at a wedding. From there she decided that she wanted to take it more seriously and start doing portraits. She still works a day job as well as a high school business and technology teacher. Her goals for the 400 space are to use the studio for things like headshots, newborns, and mini-family portrait sessions. She also had some pretty nice things to say about her suite mate, Mariah Justus ( check out last week if you missed her) “It has been a wonderful experience working with @mariahjustusphotos as a partner in the studio. We just get along so well and have very similar styles, interests, and business values.“
These two halves make a whole in what they call @honeydewportraitstudio . They do what they love, and love what they do. We are so happy that they chose to become part of the 400 family. The studio is having is grand opening THIS FRIDAY during our Franklinton Fridays event. So come check out Studio 102 and see what they have to offer! #tenanttuesday #614 #614artists #400square

This Tenant Tuesday we focus on an up-and-coming photographer who’s new to our 400 community. @mariahjustusphotos is part 1 of 2 as next week we feature her suite mate @arkwrightportraits !
Mariah is a 22-year-old photographer with a wholesome, hometown base. Being a Columbus native, she first fell in love with photography in school at West High School when she joined the yearbook club. This opened her eyes to how much she enjoyed the art of photography. She says “ I quickly fell in love with capturing moments all around me.” Attending THE Ohio State University, she shifted her focus to academia for some time. But when a friend of hers came knocking for a Senior Photoshoot, she couldn’t turn down the opportunity to help. This gesture of kindness, however, reignited her passion. That summer she spent countless hours trying to perfect her craft.
She has been doing photoshoots including creative modeling work and capturing concerts ever since.
In January she crossed paths with another photographer @arkwrightportraits (you will have to stay tuned next week for her story!) who became a mentor and a good friend. Just as recently as a month ago, the two embarked on a new adventure, forming @honeydewportraitstudio . The two have been building and creating ever since!
Mariah hopes to become a professional photographer for concerts or a personal photographer for musicians. “I’m eager to gain more experience in the field and aspire to be among the greats. This weeks Tenant Tuesday is a newer member to our community. Nate Meister, or @theanvilbear as his business at 400 is called, has been open for about a year now. Before moving into the creator world, Nate worked as a group home manager for developmentally disabled men, then he moved into IT/Networking and eventually became a programmer. He says “
I was left feeling unfulfilled, and that I was still missing my calling. I used to paint when I was younger and had fallen out of doing it. As I began getting back into it, I realized there was so much more out there that I could use to express the ideas in my head. I began to get into metal casting, sewing, and leatherwork. The more I did, the more I wanted to do, and I thought that there could be a real chance to make this into more than a hobby.“ He left his job and began working out of his garage, focusing on his art full time. He then moved to Columbus last year and joined us at 400. “It has been a game changer for my work. It’s such a great community filled with some of the most talented people. At first, I felt like I was out of my depth. Trial by fire showed me that I am able to make this business function and have been getting a lot of useful feedback from customers and fellow artists.”
His mediums include functional to non-utilitarian leatherwork, painting, metal casting, clothing, costumes/masks, jewelry, home decor, and decoration. He hopes to make something that is both durable and long-lasting.

This tenant Tuesday we are featuring Chromedge’s very own Rechelle Snow. Rechelle is a Columbus native who in 2004 attended a year that laid the foundation for her creative path at CCAD. Seeking broader horizons, she moved to California in 2007 to attend the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Soon after attending, financial difficulties led her to pivot from traditional art school to cosmetology, where she discovered her passions for bringing art into the realm of beauty.
After graduating from cosmetology school, she moved to Texas, where she ran a successful salon. During this time she created penny Afro paintings, going viral for their unique blend of art and cosmetology. In 2017, life brought her back to Ohio, where she took a hiatus from the beauty industry to serve as a correction officer. However, the onset of Covid-19 and a leap of faith propelled her back into the world of entrepreneurship. She opened a salon studio and started making candles from her home, a venture that quickly outgrew its beginnings and led her to Chromedge Studios. Today she is a multifaceted artist and entrepreneur, skilled in oil painting, jewelry making, resin art, tattooing, candle making, and beauty services, including hair, nails, and makeup. All of this while being a mother to 4 children! Our tenants impress us everyday!
